The Crusades

Picture
The crusades were a long line or wars between the Christians and Muslims in south Asia.
The Christians and the Muslims were fighting over control of the Palestine. The Palestine was called the holy land by the Christians because it was in the region where Jesus had lived, preached, and died.
The holy land was the scene of many bloody battles during the crusades, like the one near the city of Antioch.
In 1096 about 5,000 crusaders left for the holy land. Some of the first crusaders sent out were peasants, not soldiers. The peasants attacked the Jews in Germany because they blamed them for Jesus death. Because the peasants were not trained they all died.
